Anthesis is an augmented reality flower companion that reflects a viewer's inner state through symbolic bloom animations. A short series of introspective questions assigns the viewer one of four archetypes, each represented by a distinct animated flower.
The display uses a DIY holographic illusion: a monitor mounted facing downward, reflecting through a four-sided plexiglass pyramid, a 3D object floating in space, visible from multiple angles. Spectacular and handmade at the same time.
By placing organic form in a digital space, the piece sits in the tension between natural emotion and synthetic environments.
